Eddie Hearn reveals what will happen to Anthony Joshua if he loses against Oleksandr Usyk

Even if he loses to Oleksandr Usyk in a high-stakes rematch,Anthony Joshua won’t give up boxing.
On August 20, in a crucial Saudi fight, the Watford fighter will attempt to reclaim the unified heavyweight titles from the cunning southpaw.

Although promoter Eddie Hearn is adamant it wouldn’t mean the end of the British bruiser’s career, AJ may very well become an outsider in the crowded heavyweight division if he suffers a second consecutive loss to the Ukrainian.
When questioned about the possibility of Joshua retiring following another loss to Usyk, Hearn simply responded, “No, I would be shocked.

“AJ loves fighting; boxing is everything to him. When he lost to Usyk, the amount of people in the industry messaged me, saying, ‘I think he should retire now.'”
“I said, ‘He just lost to the pound-for-pound #1 or #2. He’s not had that many fights.'”
“He loves the sport, and I’m sure he’ll be around for a long time, but obviously we’d much rather win.”

Joshua vs Usyk II
Joshua, 32, lost by a wide margin of points when the unbeaten Usyk turned him over in their Tottenham matchup last September.

But the undisputed cruiserweight champion will be defeated a second time by the golden boy of British boxing, just as he did in his rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019.
With Andy Ruiz, I believe people could see that things weren’t perfect, but you have to be tough and resilient, he added. We handled our loss with dignity.
