Sascha Bajin: Serena Williams is workhorse, nothing in her life came easy

Renowned tennis coach Sascha Bajin revealed the biggest lesson he learned from Serena Williams was have to keep up the intensity and how to practice. Bajin was recognized in 2018 when he was named the WTA Coach of the Year.
Before becoming the WTA Coach of the Year, Bajin was part of Williams’ team as a hitting partner. “The biggest lesson I’ve learned from Serena Williams was, without a doubt, how to keep up the intensity and how to practice,” Bajin said on The Functional Tennis Podcast, as quoted on Sportskeeda.
“She is a workhorse. Nothing in her life came easy and she really had to work super hard for everything in her life.”
Williams seemed perfection from Bajin and everyone
“I would have to walk on eggshells, making sure everything was perfect before Grand Slam finals,” Bajin said.
“There was never an allowance for excuse, so we had to eliminate excuses.” Recently, one of the first coaches of Serena and Venus Williams, Rick Macci, recalled his first impression of the Williams sisters. “I wasn’t impressed at first.
But then when they started competing, it was brutal,” Macci said during his interview with YouTube channel Tweener Head, as quoted on Sportskeeda. “I’ve seen a lot, I never saw two little girls run so hard and almost fall over to get a ball.
Quick, strong, fast. And they would go for the jugular.” Meanwhile, both Serena and Venus are set to miss the Australian Open. “While this is never an easy decision to make, I am not where I need to be physically to compete,” Serena Williams told the Australian Open website.
“Melbourne is one of my favorite cities to visit and I look forward to playing at the AO every year. I will miss seeing the fans, but am excited to return and compete at my highest level.”
