‘We Brought Back the Dance!’ – Serena Williams Once Thanked Fellow ‘Clown’ Novak Djokovic for Reinstating an Old Wimbledon Tradition

American tennis star Serena Williams is arguably the best female tennis player of all time. Subsequently, Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic is currently in a race with arch-rival Rafael Nadal to secure the title as the best male tennis player in history. Recently, the Serb won his 21st Grand Slam title at the Wimbledon Championships. Unfortunately, Serena did not have a great time, as she lost in the first round this year.

Interestingly, they both won the Wimbledon title back in 2015 and danced together at the Champion’s dinner. During that time, the American tennis player posted some photos with Djokovic, and she made some interesting comments.
Serena Williams trolled herself and Novak Djokovic
Notably, after winning the Wimbledon Championships, Serena took to social media and posted some pictures as she talked about bringing the old dance tradition back to the Wimbledon Championships. She wrote, “And finally… Only Novak Djokovic @djokernole could get the Official dance back at the champions dinner #Wimbledon.”
Moreover, she trolled herself and the Serb, as she called them clowns. “Wimbledon champions/ Clowns… congrats @djokernole we brought back the dance! #championsdinner #Wimbledon #renasarmy I have a lot of pictures get ready!” she further wrote in a separate post.
Notably, Djokovic has been famously called the ‘Joker’ by fans and fellow professional players. That was probably the reason Serena called them clowns.
Serena and Djokovic’s triumph at the Wimbledon Championships in 2015
In 2015, Novak Djokovic faced the Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer in the final. After 2 hours and 56 minutes, the Serb beat the Swiss 7-6 6-7 6-4 6-3. In that match, Federer put up a great fight against Djokovic, as he came back in the second set after losing the first set. In the end, Djokovic proved to be too much for Federer, as he clinched the Championships in four sets.
