In the Laver Cup, a three-day competition in London from September 23-25, Novak Djokovic will compete as a member of Team Europe alongside Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Andy Murray.
Djokovic, who has played some of the most memorable games in tennis history against these three rivals, is looking forward to playing alongside them.
“It’s the only tournament where you get to play in a team with the guys you normally compete against,” said Djokovic, the Wimbledon winner.
“Joining Rafa, Roger, and Andy, three of my greatest rivals of all time, will be a truly unique moment in the history of our sport.”
Bjorn Borg, who is the captain of Team Europe, was the captain of the team during all four previous editions of Laver Cup, which the Europeans won.
“I wouldn’t have imagined having these four icons of the sport together in one team,” Borg said.
Former rival John McEnroe will sit on the Team World bench. Felix Auger-Aliassime, Taylor Fritz, and Diego Schwartzman have all been officially confirmed as members of Team World so far.
