The big news of the day is that, as it turns out, Roger Federer is a bit of a potty mouth!
One of the most engrossing things about the Laver Cup was the player-to-player coaching, with Federer and Nadal especially vocal throughout.
Alexander Zverev was the man who eventually won the cup for Europe, but not without some expletive-laded advice from Federer first.
“I want a ‘let’s go’ and a ‘come on’ for every f***ing point you win,” Federer was caught on camera saying to the German before the deciding match against Milos Raonic.
“And every point you lose, you f***ing take it like a man.
“(When you lose a point) it’s always like ‘ah I knew it, f**k, s**t.”
The hero of the hour didn’t seem to mind, though, and said he was actually very thankful for the help of Federer and Rafael Nadal.
“They were the ones that got me through that match definitely,” Zverev is quoted as saying.
“They told me to get pumped up and this match can change my season. I’ve been losing a lot of tight matches but I’m finally getting over it and I’m happy.”
