English boxer Tyson Fury is currently trying to negotiate an exhibition fight against Game of Thrones actor Hafthor Bjornsson whose character is known as The Mountain.
The fight would take place in London this November and would certainly be highly anticipated by a lot of people given the sheer size of the two men.
“It would be fun. It would be great to be there in front of, say, 70,000 fans and show him what boxing is all about and knock him out,” Fury told Telegraph Sport. “We’re talking to his team at the moment and it’s definitely something I’m interested in.”
Fury recently retained his title in a fight against Dillian Whyte which ended in a sixth-round knockout. He then announced that he would be retiring from professional boxing and he is adamant that he will not fight the winner of Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk.
“I’m not too worried about Anthony Joshua and Usyk in Saudi Arabia next month, whoever wins, because I’ve achieved everything I wanted to as a professional boxer, undefeated and having won all the belts. There are so many other things I want.” can go on and do it,” said Fury.
Bjornsson has confirmed recently that there are indeed talks ongoing to see if a fight can happen in London.
“I know there are some negotiations going on and some talks, but nothing is complete. If it were to happen, I would gladly step into the ring and gladly fight him,” said Bjornsson.
“I’ve said it from day one. When people have asked me, ‘Would you fight Tyson Fury,’ I’ve always said yes. It would be a great honour for me to fight the best heavyweight fighter in the world and it would be an incredible experience for me.
“Would he punch me? Probably, but I wouldn’t give a fuck. I’d do the best I could and who knows what the fuck happens? I’m strong and my punches hurt, so if it happens, you can’t take it easy because I’m a warrior, I’m a Viking, and I’m going to go all out if it happens. Nothing is impossible if you at least have that mentality,” he said.
