Prince Harry’s Reaction to Kate Middleton at Royal Wedding Goes Viral

The “cute” moment where Prince Harry saw Kate Middleton walking down the aisle on the day of her royal wedding from 11 years ago has gone viral after being shared on social media.
The clip showing Harry as he stood beside brother William at the altar of Westminster Abbey in 2011 has gained over 1 million views since it was uploaded to video-sharing platform TikTok, receiving in excess of 180,000 likes.

The video’s upload by the TikTok user danideeeee1 with the caption “cute moment” comes as news that Harry, alongside his wife Meghan Markle, will travel to Britain in early September to take part in a number of charity events.

A spokesperson for the Sussexes announced on Monday: “Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to visit with several charities close to their hearts in early September.”
Royal watchers hoping to see a reunion between Harry and brother William may be disappointed, as royal commentators have ruled out a meeting as “unlikely” following the Platinum Jubilee in June that saw the brothers attend events separately.

The viral TikTok video, which shows Harry turning to William to make a smiling comment upon seeing Kate in her wedding dress, prompted some social media users to lament the perceived state of the brothers’ relationship being described by some as a “royal rift.”

“I miss their friendship,” wrote one user.
“I miss them as a trio. They were always smiling and laughing,” posted another.
The wedding of William and Kate took place on April 29, 2011, at Westminster Abbey in a formal ceremony that saw the crowned heads of Europe as well as figures from British politics invited to attend.
Harry served as William’s best man, a role that was reciprocated by William at Harry’s 2018 wedding to Meghan Markle.

Though exactly what Harry told William as Kate walked up the aisle is not definitively known, royal commentators have speculated with Marcia Moody, author of Kate: A Biography, proposing that he said: “Right, she is here now. Well, she looks beautiful, I can tell you that.”

William and Harry have not been photographed together since July 2021 when they both came together to unveil a statue dedicated to their mother Princess Diana on the grounds of her former home, Kensington Palace.
2022 marks the 25th anniversary of the death of Diana in a Paris car crash at the age of 36. There are no formal royal plans to mark the anniversary despite Harry being due to arrive in Britain for his round of charity events just days after its passing on August 31.

Both Harry and William have spoken in tribute to their mother this year, with Harry telling People magazine: “I certainly hope and believe everything I do makes her proud.”
“In the 12 short years I was lucky enough to have with her, I saw and felt the energy and lift she got from helping others, no matter their background, ailment or status. Her life and theirs was better for it, however short theirs or hers was.”

He then ended with the statement: “I honor my mother in everything I do. I am my mother’s son.”
In May, William paid a more subtle tribute in referencing the grief he still experiences 25 years after the princess’ death while opening a memorial garden to the victims of the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing.
“As someone who lives with his own grief,” he said, “I also know that what often matters most to the bereaved is that those we have lost are not forgotten.

“There is comfort in remembering. In acknowledging that, while taken horribly soon, they lived. They changed our lives. They were loved, and they are loved.”
