Anthony Joshua torn apart by Dillian Whyte in ‘spineless’ rant as ‘act’ called out

Dillian Whyte has had some very choice words for his old rival, Anthony Joshua. The Body Snatcher believes AJ is playing an ‘act’ and isn’t who he presents himself to be.
The pair fought each other back in 2015 with Joshua coming through early adversity to win via a seventh-round stoppage. In the second round, Whyte caught AJ with a left hook that rocked him to his boots.

To his credit, Joshua recovered well but this marked the first time fans had seen Joshua in real trouble after walking through his previous 14 opponents with relative ease. Since that day, Whyte has repeatedly called for a rematch and could be just a few months away from securing just that when Joshua returns to action in early 2023.

According to promoter Eddie Hearn, the winner of Whyte vs Jermaine Franklin on November 26 is the ‘frontrunner’ to face Joshua next. Last time out, fans were treated to an entertaining build-up between the two midlands boxers and it appears there will be more of the same as their rematch looms.

In a lengthy rant during an interview with JOE, Whyte ripped into Joshua’s character.
“You could be speaking to him, and he just looks a bit spaced out and a bit absent-minded and a bit vacant,” he said. “He’s done a few weird things as well. We all do weird things but there’s no consistency to what he does.

He puts on this act and pretends he’s a good boy, and all of a sudden, he wants to be a bad boy and he wants to rap, and he wants to talk about notorious gangsters and stuff … No real spine or backbone, just a bit all over the place.”

He continued: “Good luck to him. He done his thing. He made money. He’s won [the] world championships twice or whatever … I hope he stays in boxing, and I hope he stays of solid mind because I want to fight him. I want a chance to get my rematch, so I hope he stays of solid and sound mind. I don’t want him to go crazy and then retire and f***ing become a rapper or a priest or something.”
