The details of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s trip to the United States of America have been revealed as they are set to make an official visit to the US.
It is a trip that some royal staffers are referring to as their ‘Super Bowl moment’ and there is a huge amount of anticipation from both sides.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are going to be arriving in Boston on Wednesday and their office has released some details about their itinerary.
Their three days in the U.S. will end with the celebration of new ideas to solve the planet’s issues, the second annual Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony.
The pair have not been to the US since their visit in 2014 which means a host of Americans who are interested in the royals may not have seen the first visit.
News outlet People spoke to a source close to the royal couple and they said the pair are “extremely excited for the visit”, before saying: “They feel and appreciate the warmth and excitement of the American people for their return to the U.S. and are really looking forward to meeting as many folks as possible.”
The Earthshot Prize Awards will air on PBS on Sunday, December 4, and it will be Prince William’s chance to share his thoughts and spread optimism about the climate crisis.
He and Princess Kate are “excited to be able to bring that to the United States and inspire people stateside and around the world through the incredible stories we are going to tell,” the source says.
The source adds, “The prize has become the Prince’s Super Bowl moment of the year, and he looks forward to continuing to use the platform each year to shine a light on some of the most impactful projects doing amazing things around the world to save our planet’s future.”
